Is something wrong with my eyes, or is the left rear tire coming off of the rim?

No he just has it loaded up pretty well and the "tread" part shifts away from under the rim under hard cornering !!

combination of loading of the tire and the tire is a little too small for the rim. you should see what the speed GT 275s look like when they are fit on an 11+ rim . It does look like its coming off the rim, but its not.
