im thinking one of the holes that had really high compression, welded a piston to the cylinder sides. my next guess is a bearing(s). Im sure the possibilities are endless as the long block was guessed to be newish, but it sat around for 7 years. No one really knows the story for sure, except the previous owner. (are you out there????)
there was a lot of grey /black sludge in the oil pan, almost looked metalic. (before we ran the car) some said that that could be normal for an engine sitting for several years.

we will see.
