Fontana Festival of Speed 2005
I spent yesterday morning (3-18-05) at the California Speedway. The weather was perfect for racing. Later in the afternoon it started to rain. Mark Anderson and Joe Fan looked awesome, passing everything on the track. It looked very cool , as they ran side by side . Made me proud to be a 928 owner Here are a couple of pictures I took BTW..the last picture is of Joe and Mark running side by side on the straight, unfortunately, Mark is blocked by an overhead light. They looked and sounded awesome running side by side

Great shots. Best of luck to Mark A, Mark K, John V, Tom F, Stan, and Joe this season...they will, undoubtedly represent all of us well.

Well my day did not end so well. The club decided to combine 2 race groups together totaling 62 cars and the speed differential was huge. I had qualified 3rd and by lap 5 we were lapping the slower cars. 3 of us were splitting a backmarker but when the 1st and 2nd place cars passed him on the left he swerved right and ran me off the track into the tires.

Any "other damage" than the fender and cover or is there more that we don't want to see?

I did have a chance to tear into it a bit and it does not look like there is any frame damage. I was surprised that the tie rod was not bent as there is about 1" of toe out on that wheel. The casue ended up being a bent arm on the spindle. My next race is in 2.5 weeks but I don't see any reason why it won't be done by then. The fender was widened by splitting it and adding in a section but my fabricator saidy he can do another in a day or 2. Now if I can get Kibort to make me another headlight cover I'll be in good shape.
