DEVEK HP FEST 2005
But how much HP will thre be at the "Fest", you may ask!
Good Question - So, if is befitting to have a dyno on site to offer the "patients of power" the opportunity to have before and after "SUPERMODEL improvements" measured!
Tom Cloutier, of PowerBroker fame, will be here offering his Dyno services for the before and after measurements for the "patients" as well as for anyone wanting a baseline on their 928.
We will have the three SUPERMODEL 928 SC installs, with before and after gains to dyno, plus one Vortech GTS before, a few 911's, a 993GT2 spec turbo, possibly a few GT3's, and hopefully, a recent Vortech install (George??) as reference points.
We have room for more dyno sessions. Cost is $100 per session, which is about 4 runs per vehicle delivering hp/tq/rpm/af and boost.
The fun begins Saturday morning, March 26 and ends "when it ends".
Food and beverages - FREE! Come hungry, cause the hamburgers are AWESOME!
Come and join us for a HP Fest!

Thanks for hosting this Marc, and thanks to you and Tom for providing the dyno for the before and after for the "patients" it should provide some great real world examples of the benefits of the SC kit.
Who is the 3rd supermodel and what kit/stage are they doing?

Man, I'm sorry I'm going to miss it. I've been wanting to dyno my car just to see how "healthy" the engine is compared to others and to watch all the SC fun. Unfortunately, I'd never hear the end of it if I bailed out of my Chicago trip for my nephew's birthday since I only see them twice a year. But...it is the cold and flu season, and cough, cough, my throat seems a little sore this morning.

Man, I would love to show, but this is booked on a very tough weekend for most folks, EASTER and to boot, the traffic to and fro will be horrible. Maybe next time.
Good luck and have fun!

Jim Hurtt is the third patient, with a 90 GT getting the twinscrew supermodel treatment. He is coming down from Portland.

I am guessing it will be over 1100. But then again I know that DynoJet #s are a little higher that most other dynos, including the DynaPac we'll be using.

1100/3= 366 per car at the wheels. I'd be shocked if the 2 GT's dont put down a good deal more than that, especially the twin screw version.
Its that tired old S4 that is the issue!!! : ) (so tired it does 165 MPH for hours on end)
Andy: sent you a PM.

I would like to put down over 400, 425 would be cool...
The last time I dyno'd I was @ 300. Since then I have indexed the cams, new plugs, wires & rotor and added a 2 1/2" exhaust. Also did the front of the engine but no power to be gained there.

Based on 300RWHP before install for the GT's, this is what I am predicting:
Seth, 89GT, Jag/Eaton M112 Stage2 @ 5psi, 375rwhp, and VERY shiny.
Jim, 90GT, Twin-Screw Stage2 Intercooled, 435RWHP minimum @ 7psi. Since Jim has added a 2.5" exhaust since his 300RWHP dyno and indexed cams, we could see upwards of 450RWHP. We may run it up to 8.5 psi too.
Bill, 89S4, automatic, based on 253rwhp (316*.80), Jag/Eaton M112 Stage2 at 5psi, 322.4rwhp
1132RWHP total
BUT my experience is with DynoJet #s

Since we will have the ability to measure before and after, how about we start a pool on the uncorrected numbers?
Toms DynoPak is very close to a DynoJet, maybe a 3% lower?

Last year I was 262rwhp on the same dyno. I just installed a test pipe this weekend. Strangley enough, I think I lost power and I may go back to the cats after I do a few acceleration runs to verify this.
The other thing is that I'm more interested in the mid-range torque (better acceleration out of turns, etc.). The HP may fall off at the top, but the mid-range bump could be huge. Too bad all that seems to get any attention is the peak HP.
When we were testing some of Tom Cloutier's intake mods on my car, we saw only 10HP gain at the peak, but over much of the RPM range the increase was over 30 HP.
