For comparison here is the Stage 2 Jag/Eaton M112 setup on an S4 with the Innovate LM1, no tuning.

You will probbaly be OK, but watch out at idle/very low loads. If you drop the injector pulse too much, you will get erratic fuelling due to the opening time of the injectors being close to the total injector pulse width period.

With a modest increase in fuel pressure you may be OK.

What size injectors are you using ?

Regards

Hey John,
Thanks for the input. I believe the fuel pressure mods really only come to play when I get on the throttle a little, so the theory is that cruising performance shuldn't be affected too much. I just went out to do a couple logged SMT6 runs.

This is a first gear run to redline going uphill a little. Notice how the LH never sees a MAF voltage higher than 6.0:

This is a second gear run to redline on level road:

cool stuff man!
I need to rig up my MAF as well one of these days. the car is on the back burner for a while now...it runs..runs well and strong. Time to just drive it and have fun for a while.

See if you can hook up dwell/duty cycle, that would be interesting to see also

I assume "deflection" is a TPS? How did you rig that up?

IF you have an autometer fuel gauge you can call the tech line and they will give you the Voltage vs Pressure data.

Yeah, I definately know what you mean Tony. I haven't touched my car since I got the new radiator/fan put in (it was always an issue that plagued my car). It feels great to just be able to drive it and enjoy it for what it is. I haven't really messed with the SC kit for 6-8 months (I put on a smaller pulley about 3-4 months ago, but that was it).

I was pondering the duty cycle... i'll have to see what logging options I have available for that. Does your aux-box have a special input or setting for it?

Yes, the deflection is TPS. I'm actually cheating big time... I have it hooked into the MAF since the voltage from the MAF changes with throttle position. Its very crude but it definately gets the job done. I was doing some research into a way to get a variable TPS working on the car... but haven't had time lately.

Thanks for the tip on the fuel gauge.... Do you know if it is it possible to buy just the electronic sender for the autometer?

Hi MIke,
Ok, so what you are saying is that you are only rasing the fuel pressure when under boost ? FMU ?

What size injectors are you running, standard 19lb ?

I assume the voltage "analog input" is the raw MAF voltage, and the voltage "analog output" is the voltage at the LH pin, after any processing by the SMT6 ?

Bear in mind that anything over 5.6v into the LH and the injectors are on continuously. So your only method of mixture control is fuel pressure above that voltage.

John,
The extra fuel comes in right around atmospheric pressure. It is an FMU/RRFPR

I'm using 24lbs injectors which I believe are standard on 85/86 cars.

You are correct on the analog in/analog out

Darn. 5.6? Looks like i'm gonna need a bit more fuel pressure or larger injectors to make my idea work the way I want it...

Thanks for all your info/input John, its very valuable to me.
