It's Official!! PACNW Track Attack IX is on....
Just a note to all interested....just got word from our Spokane contingent (Chris Ford ) that the track attack is on. It was touch and go there for a while since there is an ongoing lawsuit related to the track and its owners..but no matter....we (PACNW 928) are having our semi-annual track attack.!!
The date is April 16th and the location is Spokane Raceway Park in Spokane Washington. For those that don't know this is a track event held twice a year and is almost exclusively for 928s. In the past there have been a smattering of BMWs, Audis and an occasional Viper or Subie in the mix. The event is coordinated with the Bimmer group out there and there are instructors available for beginning drivers. Believe me, you will get more track time here than almost any other event. The track opens at 8am and is usually open for the entire day (till 3pm or 5pm..depending on drag racing schedule).. There are no seperate run groups and only about 5 or so cars on the track at any one time...
Typically we get about 15 to 20 928's out there...most from Seattle area and Portland OR area...but anyone who is around or willing to drive (Dave Lomas - from Motorsport in UT usually makes it up) is welcome....
Costs for the event have gone up due to increases in the cost for track insurance, but for now... price per person is $140 if received before April 1. Anytime after that it goes upto $175.
If you want any additional information...please pm me.....
Woohoo....really looking forward to hitting the track again....

Tom

If I remember correctly...about 1.25 miles...and most S4s will hit 140 to 150..speedo indicated...before turn one....
Most take Turn 1 (slight right hander) at 120 or less...and then hard on the brakes into two...the big U turn ;-)...
Don Hanson said he got 165 by the end of the straight...and when I rode with Shane in his SC'd 85....we were at 140 about mid way up the straight..with plenty to go..
A fun track overall...

P.S. I do have a GPS verified 165 at the end of the straight in my GT..but I know it wasn't real haha..

I bet its scarry fast! RA was 22 seconds full throttle going from the last turn down the straight, starting from 60mphish. the other two 155mph straights were approach speeds of a little faster but a little shorter, but were not uphill like the main straight.
I remember timing Daytona and those guys, in even faster cars, were full throttle 27 seconds!!!!
If im getting to 155mph (just barely touching my rev limiter at 155 in 4th gear) i wonder how faster you could go with another 1/2 mile or so. (i dont know RA's front straight length, but its got to be close to .7mile max! ) (ave speed 60mph start, 155mph finish, 107mph ave, 22 seconds, = .6 mile and thats uphill!)
Looks like a REAL fun track! I got the speed bug now , after running at RA!

Actually the back straight is more fun, the photo doesn't show the elevation changes but 125mph over a blind left hand crest is just way to much of a grin factor.

The front straight is so long as to be a bit boring, but it does give one time to get some reading in. Not sure what book to bring this time.
After T2 there's a roller-coaster section--up, down up, down--then through that LH crest at a pretty fast clip. It's a fun track. (Except that the pit entrance crosses the track itself...)
