Why you should check the throttle cable

Ok, so heres the story, last summer we had to replace the throttle cable on both of our cars. The black cars broke about 15 minutes after we picked the car up (the guy we bought the car from didn't even help). The yellow cars frayed and got stuck full throttle in a residential neighborhood. With 545 hp, it took only seconds to jump 3 curbs, nearly miss a fire hydrant, and take out a Dead End sign (which punctured the gas tank).
So I hope you guys can learn a lesson from all this, it only takes a couple of minutes to check the cable, and possible thousands to fix it if you don't. It was 2,800 just to get the gas cleaned up by the fire department.
Here are some pics of some of the damage that was on the yellow car.

Ow!
It sure is a bad week for 928 crashes...
Well, when you repaint it, you can replace the bumper seal,
so it is not painted...

The wheels could probably be fixed.
There are wheel repair shops that specialize in fixing dents in people's silly 21" wheels, etc...

No 545 hp, 542 ft. lbs torque at the motor, haven't dynoed it since it was in the car because it didn't have limited slip, now it does, should be able to get better numbers this summer.

Ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... Now it makes perfect sense... The little compressor on the top of the engine... Very well then...
Ouch, and maybe a big red kill switch is on your list in case something like that happens again..
Sorry to hear, hope you get it fixed as it was..
Cheers,

The accident was actually this past summer, everything is back together, with 4 new turbo twists.
No kill switch yet, but now if it ever happens again, I hope to be smart enough to throw it in neutral and then turn the key.
