Default Front End work almost done

The timing belt light came on and the waterpump started leaking... Here are some pics of the progress.

Notice we powder coated the tensioner since we had to rebuild it anyway.

Prettiest tensioner I've seen yet!

Hey, have you put oil in the tensioner yet? How much did it take? Did you fill it before you snugged up the tension? If so, do some of the oil fill gush out the end cap?

Yes we put oil in it while rebuilding the tensioner. It doesnt take much half a cup I guess. Once mounted I popped open the bleaders and pumped oil in them with my oil can and that topped it off. No oil squirted out of anything while we tensioned it. Did yours gush out the end cap?

Yes, It has done that on several different rebuilds on different S4s. Also, I used a calibrated syringe, and I only got 3 ounces in. When the tensioner squeezed down, 1/2 an ounce came out the end despite new boot properly installed.

Any way to put oil in the tensioner while it is installed? Or is it too big a hassle?
