Default Update to wheel delima!!

Well after all the worrying, my new wheels (10x17 rear) fit without removing the spacers or having to use the open-end lug nuts
http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/new_wheels.jpg

Now I just have to figure out why my rear wheels are toeing in

Darien, those look great! 10" in the rear is fantastic, how wide are the fronts and do you know the offsets? Congrats!

Have you driven it much since mounting them, my 951 took nearly an hour to settle back down after mounting new wheels...kind of like the Koni's stayed pumped up or something. Just a thought. Those look so nice on a Shark.

hey! that looks just like my car darin! I did a double take and had to ck my garage to make sure my old gal hadn't wandered off in the night w/another rennlister! HA! I bought the set from DR that he had on his 85S euro, think the rears were 10.5", so I had to use a smaller spacer and found a nice set of deeper black alloy lugs at pelican... they are

lookin good!!!!

cfc928gt,

Not sure about the offsets, I don't know how to check They have 7x17 stamped on the fronts and 9x17 on the rear. Not sure what year 993 they came off.

Are the rears 9x17 or 10x17?

Very very nice. Have you checked if your car is still in the garage in the last 15 minutes? :P

Do you have any more pics of your car?

Darien, you devil you! In your prior post, we were running around helping you fit 10" wheels - and now you've gone and washed them, and shrunk them to 9" .
Look in the back side of the wheel, and all the data is cast near the hub. In addition, there is an ET XX cast beside the valve stem.
If they are 993 wheels, then you have found the 9x17 and 7x17 stamps - and the ET is likely 55(millimeters) for both. This is a straight bolt on, as you have now determined. Actually, there is room in the rear for a reasonable spacer to further fill the wheel well. Looks good .... but no more shrinkage

Car looks great Darien! I really like the color and the wheels make it look much newer.

Shrinkage is bad, especially when the rubber is on... ahh, nevermind.

Andre,

Did you see the following post with some pics?
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/186115-new-member.html

Garth,

I just got lucky I wasn't sure what I was getting, but the price was right and I've seen them on other 928's. Hell, I even bought the open end lug nuts

Thanks all...
