Broken Belt -- AGAIN??

Matt, those cat fires are killers. I've seen two of them now and I FEAR being on the road and having one. If that happened I am sure the car would be burnt up completely. They can potentially set fire to the interior through the tub also and then you need to get out and let her burn. Not good, we've had a few of them where the car was severely damaged. Or destroyed.

Tres, the sequence is this:
spark shuts down on four of the cylinders (let's say 1, 5, 3, 7) and those cylinders keep getting raw fuel in and out. Cat now gets 50% burnt gases and 50% raw fuel mixed with nice fresh oxygen ..... what do you think happens in the cat

Well, I guess you learn something new every day. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I havnt really dug into the timing belt on my car so I dont know what anything down there looks like. The timing belt is one of my next jobs to do.

Mark as you've said, it doesn't matter. All gears are equal. I like to drive around in reverse since you enlightened me, it sure feels no different.
