Chuck: you will do well to strip and re-do those wheels on the "Shadow" GTS. I'm just psyched to have a finish that I don't have to worry about with small scratches and brake dust. (You have to talk Dave C. into getting an o.b. now!)

The flats are going on my friend's silver '85 euro. The best I can do for pics now is tires mounted on the 993 wheels I had done. We also put them on the euro to see what the color looked like; and I think it was pretty cool. His car needs some "Chuck Z." style attention, and we'll get it done.
Both of my cars are on jackstands right now for stuff.

Pics of the calipers would be a treat.

Hey Carl,

I plan to get them powder coated gloss black. Will you do me a favor and let me know what it costs to do you "cup' wheels (stirp and powder coat)? If you do not want to post here, please send me an email. chuck@928registry.org

TIA.

Chuck: I think it's $315 or so. You can call him tomorrow at the phone # from the first page of this thread.

Now I have a really stupid question... Is it possible to powder coat something in two tones? For example, coating the inside of the rims in one color, and the outside in another? Unlike painting, I have never seen the process of powder coating...

Nicole, It is possible to do that but not as easy as wet. You can do fades as well.

Carl,

Do you have any pics of the rims on the car in the day light? I am thinking about powder coating the rims I got from you before I get new tires.

Speaking of powder coating .. how does an original black with grey interior sound re-done like this: "Black Pearl Metallic" x 5 coats hand rubbed and prepped; phone dial wheels same Black Pearl Metallic powder coated; all glass tinted to 30%; complete engine powder coated Brilliant Cloud White with all harnesses, cables, hoses, tubes, Fire Engine Red.

Those are my notes so far .... interior restoration starts in mid-March and paint and powdercoat starts in mid-april.

TIA for your ideas,

Dave
