For all I know he might still be a shadow owner in the whole thing. Also, this car is now located a few hours north of santa monica.
Thanks for the info ... not that I was thinking of bidding ... but my investigative ears tend to point when I see some fishy stuff ...
Cheers,

Chuck,
I inquired about the car earlier this week. Brent, was the guy selling the car. He said he had an offer of $33,500 and told me if he had an offer over that, he would take a deposit and stop the ebay bids. I think he wanted to just unload it, said one of his dads friends had traded the car in on a newer 911 model or something to that effect. Your buddy at exclusive seemed to have gotten a decent deal.

34,600 for a 93 5- Speed GTS. Thats a steal. Where was Mike Willhoit, sleeping. If I was still looking for a GTS I would have paid a heck of a lot more. That car IMO should have hit close to $40,000.00. Didn't this car sell for close to 100K 12 years ago? Watch Barret Jackson after this auction and see a $7,000.00 70's GM car sell for a quarter of a million.... Thats it I'm trading my GTS in for a new vette, and stash the car away for 25 years and retire with the $3 million I get for it !!!

So you did sell your other GTS??? I'm happy and sad for you.....it was an exceptional car....which means if thats the one that you SOLD....what does your "better" GTS look like.....I think we all know the answer to that one! Wish I had the $45+K to buy the red one!

Not to rain on the my GTS should bring "x" parade, but after being on the high mileage side of GTS ownership I can tell you that 34,600 was a good deal for the seller.
I have seen the auction reports on GTS's a number of times over the last few years and can tell you from experience that a car like this would have gone through an auction like Manhiem in the mid 20's. Willhoit knows this, and with 70K miles on the clock it is not a sound investment for him to gamble on.
You have to figue that every 5K miles over about 50K is a significant hit to the value of the car. While I agree that the values on these cars is increasing, their relative collectibilty decreases based upon mileage -- regardless of condition.
Just my .02.

Primarily because most folks can't imagine a car easily hitting 200K on the clock. They are so used to a car nearing 80K that is ready for the scrap yard.
Sometimes the best kept secrets are detrimental to the value.
