modifications update:

thanks for all the compliments, its nice to be noticed! the wheels are from the 996 twin turbo, i havent driven far enough to know if the fronts rub. standard rubber for the rears are 295, mine has 315 and with this and a 7mm spacer they are a comfortable fit at the back nicely filling the arches.

the bodykit consists of: front section in fibreglass (clubautosport.co.uk); new porsche GTS rear quarters; RGM side sill, adapted to fit; e-tech rear wing in alloy; aero mirrors

smaller touches include the deletion of side rub strips, rear wiper and rear S spoiler along with sunroof replaced by carbonfibre panel.

randy, the door edge protectors are a standard Halfords auto parts item off the shelf and trimmed to fit - about 3min with a sharp blade!

performance mods include polyurethane bushes everywhere, blistein/eibach suspension, ott droplinks, uprated brake liners, custom exhaust and lite weight interior. next on the list is converting to 5spd manual and GTS engine which should take place in the next 8 weeks - hence the need for wider rear tires!

Unreal. Looks like a 'HotWheels' car!

How is the CF panel attached? Permanently?

Everytime I see that color, I nearly fall out of my chair!

Your wheels fill out the fenderwells nicely.

brendan, i had it repainted through the winter last year and i did post some pics of the process. deciding on the colour was the most difficult part i think, even more than paying for the rear quarters! but when grown men nearly fall off there chairs im pleased i picked orange!

lag, you really ought to see it on a sunny day when it kind of glows. my girlfriend and i went hill climbing in the lake district here in england and left it parked at the side of the road. hours later after climbing up and down we reached a summit, the mist cleared and you could see this bright orange speck down on the valley floor, couldnt see much else at that resolution!

porken, when i was little my mum lost her job and we were so poor she had to sell my toy truck... well thats not completely true but im sure theres some deeper meaning to my investment into this, maybe (probably not)?? the sunroof is permanently attached with some self tappers and flexible sealant. i also added some balsa ribs to the underside of the carbon to give it a bit more torsional rigidity and to spread loads if its pushed on.

i havent got any recent interior pics after pulling the rear panels and adding carpet up the walls + a bit of black paint to some uncovered surfaces. the sunroof comes out in a very straightforward manner but you will be surprised at how much it weighs.

vtach, i havent removed the liner but i think there is steel sheet just beneath it? another way to increase headroom is to swap in some racing bucket seats. im using recaro pole positions and im more comfortable and dont have to incline the seat right back to fit in, i prefer to be up close to the wheel.

are the recaro pole positions a narrow or wide seat ?
is it mounted in the factory seat mounts that our stock seats use ?
any more pics ?
i have been trying for a while now to get lower in my seat cause right now i also have to sit with the seat back a bit b/c my head with helmet on hits the roof top.
thanks

the pole positions are a wider fitment vs the SPG which is quite narrow IMO and im told that the pole position most closely aproximates the 964 RS seat. it is mounted to the stock seat sliders but it uses an adapter configured for porsche fittment, supplied by southbound motor trimmers here in the uk. i really like these seats and find them very supporive for longer drives. i also use an added lumbar support. i will try and take a pic at the weekend of my interior 'upgrade'.

Nick, sweet color... Can you give the exact color it is and who makes it? Reminds me of the McLaren burnt orange... And the best orange aside from it that I've seen!

barry, its a lamborghini colour same as used for the murcielago, i also liked the lime green they used and was considering that for a while!

vtach, im about 6'2" and id guess its given me maybe 2" or slightly more. my girlfriend feels like she has to peer up and over the wheel a bit. i guess the other alternative is to replace the roof with one from a car with no sunroof. if i was repainting again id probably do that. my other 928 has no sunroof and there is stacks more headroom. another thing you can try is an extension to the steering wheel bose to bring the wheel out toward you whilst reclined.
