Smile Can You Do This?

I've never been able to do this before. Thanks to Jager Engineering for the very simple kit to stop the doors closing by themselves, hope it lasts as long as the car.

My PO fitted replacement straps - a pricey job . How long did it take to fit the Jager solution?

Yep, I have the same or similar mods. I don't know about yours, but mine would tend to "groan" or squawk with closing movement of the doors. A tiny bit of grease solved that problem and they still hold well.

It took about 30 minutes, and I took my time. One side does squawk a little, even after spraying with WD40, will try some grease instead.

It's hard to tell what that red car is. But, if I'm not mistaken, it looks like an Austin Healey.

I love Healey's!

It's my neighbour's Mini Cooper. 12 months ago I was replacing the heads in the open (in the snow and rain), now I have a space in this underground garage - I've never been so completely spoilt!

I got some stops from Susan @ Devek when I bought my car and they still work perfectly without squeaking. I got tired of kicking the carpeted area along the bottom of the door. I did not grease the stops and have never greased them that I can remember. Quick install. I wish all my fixes could be that quick and painless.

???? The REAL Original Door Check Brackets are only $28.70 each new.. and Jeannie installed them in one of our 928s in only 30 minutes per side .. AND that was the first time she had ever removed a door panel!!
