Default Last Day for the Jag/Eaton M112 Stage1 Setup w/ Used SC on E-bay

It ends tomorrow evening. Financing is available through Pay Pal.
Here is the e-bay ad. It's $3392.00.
There's also a Quick Change Pulley Adapter on there too. Here it is.

That was a screaming deal!

1) Unmatchable Price anywhere.
2) Actual proven parts

I wish times were better. There was once a time where I would have plunked down the cash for this set up and telling the wife would be "optional". I probably would have done the intercooler as well - just because. I have not yet come up with a viable strategy to appopriate these funds from my lovely domestic CFO. I can sell a vehicle, but then I would have to drive the shark to work on rainy, snowy, icy, or obcenely hot days. Those are no-nos.

The Pay Pal financing is an interesting concept. I would have to already have a Pay Pay track record to bury the monthlies to the point that they would go unnoticed. I'll bet many here can use this technique, however. Kudos to whomever thought of that!

James:

I share your predicament, but I made the leap. I'll let you know how bad I get injured later.

James, come on man, get real. I live an hour south of Charlotte, ad I drive my GT virtually EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!! Rain, sleet, snow, heat. (just not when it's icey) I just take good care of her, and wax her often. Most folks don't believe it's daily driven, because it shines like a new 928. You really need to drive that car man!!!!!!!!

I drive the car, but only 1-2 times a week. My car is nowhere near as good of condition yours is, but I have always tried to keep a spot for it in the garage and minimize exposure to the elements. With the low number of miles I put on it each year, it becomes more and more difficult to justify putting more $$$ into it.

Maybe I am just a Gurly-man.

I'll tell you what, though, a supercharger would make a good mid-life crisis project for me. That is justifiable isn't it? I turn 37 this March. Do I qualify?

Bill,

Is Alamo near Walnut Creek? I used to commute from San Jose to Walnut Creet for a year or two during the dot.com days. That made for a sweet 928 commute! My favorite thing was going up the 680 grade back toward San Jose and blowing by all of the cars that had no torque or midrange HP.
OK Reminiscing is over.

Andy,

I have to say that I like your SC approach the best. The engine bay is already overly jam-packed and yours doesn't seem to make that problem exponentially worse.

The only thing I see that could be improved upon is cosmetics. "PORSCHE" ensignia on the top of the engine somewhere. Has anyone considered a functionless cover for the two sides of the supercharger with etched or embossed or painted Porsche logo? Would make things yet even more stock-looking.

Just my .02 pesos worth.

Yes, that's my commute too. Eh, blowing by the lesser cars on the Sunol grade cost me a ticket recently. It's hard to hold it back.

James,
Thanks for all the kind words!
Yes the Jag/Eaton M112 setup is a screaming deal. The one above was with a used unit but the normal price with a re-built unit is $3395.00. I had to charge more for e-bay fees and paypal fees. Click on the link below for a full description.
http://www.928supermodel.com/32jaguar_content.html

There is an upgrade to Stage 2 for only $250 for 85-86 cars and $550 for S4. I made 452CHP with the Stage 2 setup at 6.8 psi with x pipe on 93 octane.

One of my favorite things about the Non-Intercooled Jag/Eaton setup is that not only is there less stuff in the engine bay but the things that are normally under the manifold that cause problems such as throttle switch, idle control valve, vacuum lines etc, are all on top of the manifold and easily asccessable now.

The knock sensors can even be changed without removing the manifold or SC on the non intercooled setup.

The 4psi system dosen't even introduce any additional fuel system componets.

It's also very easy to install. It's the easiest to instal of all the SCs
You don't have to:
Remove distributors and t-belt covers to replace H2O bolts. Nope!
Refill trans after loosening trans & oil cooler fittings to remove fans. Nope!
Remove and replace stock cooling fans on 87+. Nope!
Run oil supply and return lines to SC. Nope, PD SCs have self contained oiling.

As far as the cosmetics, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! For the beauty is in it's simplicity and practical nature.
