I just changed my timing belt on my 1990 928 S4 and during the change (5 years and 33,000km) I noted the the two bearing fitted to the 'Carrier for Tension Roller', the two rollers fitted under the crankshaft timing belt drive gear, both needed changing.
I removed the carrier and took the bearing out of the rollers and on removing the bearings (INA 6201RS) small shielded roller bearing.
I contacted my local Porsche Centre and the price for the replacement rollers was 22 times the cost of the new 6201 races.
I purchased the new 6201 races and It took about an hour to complete the job of removal of the outer rollers and fitting to the new ones.
I will now also look at replacing the ball races in the old tensioner rollers, so that I have spares to go with my spare water pump. which is still in good condition.
Hopefully this is good information for the DIY guys.

Well done - you will find that a #6905 is a direct press in for the water pump mounted idler: just be careful to measure the seating depth prior to pressing the old one out.
The # 6201s are nicely centered in their shells. For both, a drop of blue loctite can't hurt.
The tensioner roller is pretty much a specialized piece fixed to its shaft. I opened the 3 spots on the roller halves just for fun, looked inside - and then bought a new assembly: if you find an alternative, ......
