Default New Linen interior almost done! (w/pics)

Hey all,
Finally got my new linen seats, carpet and doorpanels in! The seats and door panels have been recovered, and the carpet is brand new. With the deal I also got 2 extra hides of linen leather and a new cassette box. It took me a couple of days to get everything in. I could have done it much faster, but didn't see any since in hurrying. The previous color was black, and I was originally planning on getting black. Then I ran across all of this stuff on ebay, and made the guy an offer if he would end his auctions early. Turns out the cassette box is brand new, and the armrests have been recovered also. I still need to get alot of stuff. Steering wheel, center console, shifter, left side cover for center console, dash pod, bla bla bla. As for the ugly shifter in there now, its a $10 job from autozone because there was no shifter in the car when I got it. I had the dash recovered a few months ago, and the back center console is getting covered as we speak. As soon as I get a hide of black leather, I'm going to recover the pillars and rear hatch pieces. Anyway, I'm just so happy how its turning out. If you could only see how bad the interior was when I got the car. Everything was literally ripped to shreds. Let me know what you think!
Thanks!

yes, very nice! I'd love to see the 'before' pictures as well. What type of carpet did you go with(Slivernit or ??).

Oh and Donald, was your avatar taken in RoundTop btw?

Thanks for the comments!

Troy: Yes the carpet is Slivernit. It had originally come from Gahh. Is that who supplies OEM porsche carpet?

That's gorgeous. I need to recover my seats at some point... but I think I'll stick to black. Much easier to maintain.

That looks awesome!!!

I have a black steering wheel from an S4 in my garage - version without hub extension. I used it on my first 928, an 88 S4 which had come with the extended hub whel - because my fingers were not long enough to reach the turn signal switch...

This wheel is probably as close to looking new as it can get. I kept it, because I'd been thinking of getting an '84S at some point, but dont' think this is going to happen in the near future.

Given the original condition, I think a price of $200 (plus shipping) would be fair. Interested?

Troy-
Yes, we stopped at Royers' on the way home from the seminal "1st Annual Third Coast of Texas Sharkfest" in Bastrop. The cars belong to Curtis aka"T-Max" (89 silver) , Don Carter (86.5 S) and me.

Thanks for the good comments! Yes, the linen color will be alot harder to maintain. I plan on getting some black floormats to help out a little. I like black, but this linen is really starting to grow on me. Luckily me and my wife take it out only 1-2 times a month, so i don't think it would be near as hard to keep clean if it was a daily driver. I've only put about 500 miles on it in the last 9 months!

Nicole: I'll have to think about it. I've had my mind set on getting a momo wheel. But it would be nice having a stock wheel. Do you have a pic for me?

Sharkskin: If I would have been paying for someone to recover them, I would probably go with black. But I saw these seats and didn't want to pass up the opportunity, and a good deal.

I love it. The contrast looks fantastic.

Nicole, I am in emotional distress. For Chris, it looks awesome. For me, you say that the contrast is too harsh. Is it because my contrast is upside down?

Wow, looks nice. But what kind of shifter is that?

I would definately go with a stock wheel, would match your redone interior nicely.

Anders: Its a cheap $10 job from autozone. There was no shifter at all on the car when I got it. The autozone one is too small and won't slide down the assembly completely, so it sticks up about 2 feet hehe. I plan on getting the jager unit soon!
