New Eclipse Nav System In!
Transportation Electronics (here in Minnespolis) just got done with the Nav System Install, and it works great! The heater controls had to be lowered, which meant the wood paneling I just installed was trashed, however, they custom fit a brushed aluminum panel to match the Momo stuff I had installed... att just under $4K. This included making a custom panel to move the rear A/C controls under the dash.
I can have nav and the CD running at the same time and the display can also show Video DVD while in motion, so we can travel and my wife can see movies. The car is currently at S & S in Crystal Minnesota for a 2 1/2" custom exhaust (I have a Chevy 383 for power).

Did they move the rear ac controls under the pod too. That a nice place. It looks good. Do you have any problems with glare off of the screen?
Also, I concur with Randy about the wood trim. The brushed alum would look good with. Especially since it looks like you have grey carpet.

I seem to have some problem with Glare, however, in time I'll see how bad it is.... I've brightened the screen ... it helps..
Since there is a lot of wood elsewhere it does not look too out of place and I do like the warmth of wood.. in time I'll make the decision.

Looks very clean, near factory style install (which is rare)...I also like the idea of all wood or all aluminum....I would lean towards wood...with the inserts on the doors and a wood shift **** would looks sweet!

You know, Jager could probably hook you up with a wood piece to replace the aluminum. You'd probably have to send them the alum piece to use as a template. Of course, now you would be wasting the nice fabricated piece they just did for you...
At any rate, no matter what you decide, the install itself looks great.

With my Blaupunkt, at night, I can also see the display in the upper center part of the windshield.
I wonder if you noticed that too, and if the ghost image could help with your navigation?

Very interesting! I lilke the fact that you moved the monitor as high up as possible - the HVAC controls are not that attractive that they need prime real estate in the console.
How were the HVAC controls installed in their new position? Custom bracket? How about all the things they are connected to - were there any restrictions or issues in moving them to the new location?
Here are a few other Navi installations in 928s. The first one from a guy in Germany, the second was in a car in Sicily, Italy, and the last two are from TechArt.

We had to move the controls because the Eclipse is a single unit... no remote boxes... and is quite large.... If we did not move the heater controls, we would have needed to redo the tunnel for the torque tube to clear the unit. I don't think at the end of the day it was too much work, as the total bill was reasonable.
Tiniting the windows slightly (only so much is allowed here in Minnesota) is a really good idea.
