motor mounts, DOA
They're flat, tired, dead. '89 S4 130K. Removed leaking rack also. Now lunch.
I want to say thanks to all who have paved the way for today's 928 do-it-yourselfers such as myself. Pirtle, Nichols, and many others deserve a beer anytime we see them.
It's twice as rewarding to work on these cars as well as drive them.

I have a motor mount question. Not trying to highjack the thread. I know there are dozens of posts about motor mount replacements with the anchor units. I am still confused about which years they will work on. It seems that the earlier cars llike my 81', will not accept the anchor mounts. Is this the case or am I confused? My engine does not move around when I rev it, which seems to be the way to tell if the mounts are good or bad. Can anyone answer this question for me? Thanks.
Jim,
Up until 1983 I think? solid rubber mounts were fitted. After that the hydraulic units were used.
