Where to find a white rear fin for an S4?
I'd like to get a white fin to replace the standard black one on my S4. Anyone know where I can find one? I checked ebay, but only found one rear fin for a 928 and it was something totally different and rather ugly in my humble opinion.

No, you don't need a fiberglass rear wing to paint it. I know of two painted S4 wings that I've seen personally and the paint job was perfect. Both were done by a competent body shop that used flexative in the paint after sanding the wing smooth. Plenty of others on the list have also done it.

I bought a fiberglass one from: http://betterbodiesmotorsport.com./wings.htm A word of caution though. They really make this as an upgrade for non S4 so the bolt holes on mine didn't match so I had to do a liitle custom work to make it fit up correctly. If you order it from them tell them it is for an S4 and they might be able to get the holes positioned correctly. Also, they say it is primed and ready for painting. It needs a couple coats of sandable primer to reallly look good. By the way my car is white and the matching wing really looks good.
Good luck

I had my stock S4 type painted and it looks awesome. Mine is black to match the car but it's done very nicely. Mine is now very shiny like the rest of the car. IMHO it looks much better than the stock S4 with the matte finish.

A good body shop should be able to match your exsisting wing to your cars color for much cheaper than purchasing a GTS wing and having that painted. I agree that the painted wings do look much better than the stock black ones, especially once they age and start to get faded! If yours is still in good condition, then look for a faded one to buy (for cheap) and have painted...that way you'll have both (if you want it)

My car is in the middle or a repaint ... not for the faint of heart. Anyway I want my spoiler painted body color, when I said I would get a fibre glass one for him to paint he said he could paint the standard one. All in the prep which is pretty much free with a repaint ...
Just find a good shop.

since we're talking about 'wings', for us 'non-S4' types wanting to convert to the S4 wing, there's more to just installing the 'new' spoiler right? I seem to remember someone (possibly Jim) saying that the trim also needs to be changed to go from the S to S4...
or can we just take off the S and bolt-on the S4?
