Question Buying a 928 stored for the last 2 years

I planning to buy a 928 1987 and I have , for now, 2 choices. One with high mileage (145k), in good condition and with all maintenance done at a Porsche dealership. A second with 94K but sitting for the past 2 years with limited maintenance record.

The price difference is around 7500$ in favor of the second one.

My first idea was to go with second one do most of the maintenace myself like TB/WP , all fluids changes, etc. I believe that with 3000$, it can be a good shark.

But after reading the forums, I am a bit afraid about leaks?

Any advices.

Does the one that has been sitting currently run? If not, go with the running one. But if it does, IMHO, I'd get it - particularly if you'd do most of the maintenance yourself. Is everything else pretty equal (ie, interior, paint, body, options, etc.)?

Firstly, which S4 appeals more strongly? - colour combo, interior condition, paint condition, etc.? If the figures quoted are in kilometers, neither car has seen a lot of distance - although in Montreal, a lot of 1/4 mile hotshoe jaunts on Decarrie Blvd could be significant - so dig into the owner history. The Porsche dealership/service manager should help on one, and a good PPI will tell a lot on the other.
If you do the work, $500 will cover a complete TB/H2O pump/tensioner rebuild/idlers/etc. - so the $7500 will go a looooong ways. Assume both cars will need motor mounts, but again, not $$ if you do it (($140Cdn max.).
I am aware of concerns of leaking seals/gaskets due to sitting cars, but that has not been my experience: perhaps that is due to being in a cooler summer climate, for I stored my '80 for 3 years while living in Europe. The oil pan gasket lasted another 11 years, and nothing else has been unusual: similarly, my v. low 'milage' '88S4 remains dry - so start it up, and take a look. BTW, if the 'sitter' is an auto, there may be ATF leaking from the trans fill cap - neither unusual nor a problem.
Maybe for a car ignored for 2 years, even more "motivation" could be found - $$

Yes, it runs. Everything else is pretty equal. The color combo is OK for me on both cars. Concerning the paint, well with 17-18 years old paint I expect some flaws.

But I suspect the torque tube on the second one

I got a shark with 155k on it and another shark with 57k on it.

The one with 57 is only driven about 2k per year. It don't sit to long, but it does sit some. The one with 155k is driven all the time. Both leak nearly the same amount of fluids and are driven radically different.
