Greetings from PA,
I got a new MoMo shift **** for christmas, has anyone had any luck with a replacment shift boot for an S4 that actually looks GOOOOOD. I am trying to avoid the universals and am looking for a nice, clean, stock looking fit to the shift frame.
I would really appreicate any personal experience comments, good and bad
Thanks all,
Happy New Year!

928 Specialists (www.928gt.com) has a leather shift boot for autos. I put one in with my Jager shifter. Looks pretty nice for 45 bucks....

It is a 89 5spd
Hea, I saw tahat one from 928....thnik it would work on a manual? It looked like a pretty good option compaired to what else is available.
I always have to option of cutting the stock but I would really like to keep it for a back to stock restoration if I choose, the car is really cherry (Spent 2 years on the restoration and am now doing some minor "gee wiz" mods)
Thanks again for the reply

I'm not sure on a 5sp. I'm sure someone else will chime in on that. On the auto you just remove the old shift plate that slides back and forth and the new one just pops into place. Its a LOT better than the stock one on the autos. Especially if you have a aftermarket shifter like a Jager (I think the one pictured is a Momo). You do lose the shift plate indicator, but I've got the shift indicator on the dash anyways.

Check http://www.jageng.com/shift_tip.htm for different shift boot and shiftplate options. They should all be compatible with the Momo ****.
You can use the short leather boot with the existing shifter plate, and then put a metal wood, or carbon overlay over your existing shift plate.
Or you can go with the full upgrade and get the full boot with a metal, wood, or carbon shift plate.
You may want to check the following discussion for some of the things I did on my car: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/170073-928-interior-decorating-and-improved-shifting.html
Best of luck!
