Default power steering pump

Does anyone know if this pump http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT will fit in my '88s4. The part number given is just for the mounting bracket and the seller can't find any other number.

Can't tell, but when I did replace the p/s pump on my '87 years ago......it didn't look like that one.....and the '87 and '88 should be the same. Looks like it's not the same pump.......but of course I could always be wrong.

Did a little more research.....

The support arm/bracket with a part number of 928-347-121-xx is included with this pump. The pump should have a part number of 928-347-089-00 (up to '90) Looks like Porsche sells the pump and bracket as one unit, but the bracket it available separately also. When I bought a rebuilt pump for my '87 it didn't have the bracket.....just transferred the old one.......so that's why it looked different to me. Starting with the '91 model year, the pump IS different with a P/N of 928-347-089-01, mind you these part numbers may be superseded by now. Don't know if the '91 and above pump actually looks different than the previous version.......so at this time we still don't know if this is the correct pump for your car or not.

I would get a bracket and pump of the 91 and later models. Gives you more power assist (good for wider tires) and less weight.
