Either way not too big of a deal.

Congrats on the installation Jim, you did a great job and it was a real pleasure working with you.
Jim is the 2nd 89gt, and the 3rd 89gt is going to Australia at the begining of the year. There also may be a stage 1 kit going on a 89GT in the very near future. My car will have a 6.1L engine with an 89gt block this spring, does that qualify me to join your little club?

BTW your "little club" is smaller and more elite than our "little club", and Jim and I are a member of both.......So Jim and I are a club of 2, at the moment.....
I am chairman 'cause I have been a member longer......

I know this is an impossible question to answer, but on a scale of 1 to 10 how difficult would you rate the install? I know that the question is difficult because everyone has different levels of wrenching ability. I can change out a T-Belt but not sure I'd dare get in the heads and mess with the cams, valves, etc. Does a supercharger install fall somewhere inbetween? Or?
I talked with Shane on his install but he's an excellent mechanic to begin with. I'm still learning.

Harvey,
If you can change a timing belt, the SC is no harder to install. I did mine in a tiny garage with a pretty complete set of tools, and had no difficulty with the install. The installation manual and it's pictures really make it quite simple. Everything went together as per the manual. It has transformed the car into an absolute beast. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Jim has the difficulty factor correct. If you can do a TB change, you are MORE THAN QUALIFIED to install Tim Murphy's kit. The mauual is very complete....I know, I was the 89GT point man and I added a lot of detail to the write up as a result of my install.

I have NEVER used a hammer on my 928, and I only added some detail to the manual.....let's not go overboard......

Hey Lag - I bought a V-1. So all I need is about 75% of Tim's Kit and I'm ready to assemble except for a few weeks of AEM tuning... Anyway - question.
If you SC guys had, say, another 500rpm before the rev limiter kicked in, or maybe a softer initial rev limit - would it make it easier to drive in the higher rev ranges? You guys always talk about hitting the limiter - but thats a really bad way of knowing when to shift - not nice to the engine. I was thinking of doing a 6700 or 6800rpm SOFT limiter, and then a hard one at 6900 or 7k, so that it wouldn't be so hard on the engine. Also, the AEM can do this two stage limiter, as well as a shift light - I haven't driven one with an SC yet, but you guys mention the revs building so quickly in the lower gears when your actually trying to accellerate, I am trying to plan around that.
