Wouldn't that be better suited to the V6 Cayenne?

And for the record, I someday will own a 911 (alongside a 928).

Yeah, as the owner of a 928, 944, and 911, I hate these family squabbles. Got to admit I think the 911 gets enough ink already - the "Carrera RS is the greatest 911," "the 993 is the last real 911," "the 997 is the best 911 yet!" and so on. I already subscribe to 911 & Porsche Wolrd, GT Purely Porsche, and pick up Excellence regularly and within a year, I'd pretty much learned every variants strengths, weakness, and blue book value. There isn't much new to write about them without covering tuner models few readers will even see, much less buy, and rare vintage models most can't afford. All about a car that's gradually morphing into a 6-cylinder 928.

I had a 911. It sat in my garage next to my 928 - except for the times I was driving the 928 when it sat in the garage alone. Sure I drive it once in awhile. It's a great car. An icon. But I sold it and kept the 928, 'cuz I enjoyed driving the 928 more.

Will I buy another 911 someday? Probably. Although the next 911 I buy will probably have more in common with the 928 I have now than the '89 Carrera I sold.

John, Phil, and Rob,

total911 Magazine
nothing else matters

IMHO, that speaks of an arrogance that offend most who subscribe here,
especially since we know better...

Just thought I'd dig up this old thread and add some fuel to the fire!

Agreed.

Let's all cancel our subscriptions to Total 911 ASAP! Power to the People.

Oh, wait, none of us got around to subscribing.

OK lets just make a whole lotta noise in protest!

I hear the first issue will be groundbreaking:
1. What is lift-throttle-oversteer and why Porsche realized it was a bad idea back in 1971 (or whenever the 928 design was realized)
2. How to handle "Nice VW" comments at cocktail parties.
3. Now available: "I don't have a small *****" magnet bumper stickers for your 911 - they are PCA approved for track events.

John, Phil and Rob: Maybe you should have posted the ad only in totally911 forums. Since it is total911, you will not be covering articles about 964, 993, 996, 997 etc, right? Afterall, it is total911.

I knew it may have been a little controversial to post this announcement on the non-911 boards - you should see the reaction over on the 944 forum!! Luckily, I'm Australian & immune to friendly criticism!

Anyway, the post is just an announcment. Nothing more or less. In an ideal world, we'd all love magazines full of glossy pics, in exotic locations with articles by Walther Rohrl and Harm Lagaay on our own particular favourite Porsche - in your case the 928. But, as Jim Bailey so eloquently put it - launching a new mag is tough and unpopular commercial decisions have to be made.

I'm sorry we're not launching total928 - but I thought that this may be of interest to some of the 928 forum members who also may like reading about 911s. Apologies if I ruined you Xmas!!

OK...OK...I don't personally think that we should be dumping on the 911 or any other Porsche. Aside from that goof in the 2005 Porsche who has no idea why you are waving, we are all Porsche enthusiasts.

This 911 magazine guy just showed poor taste in dropping his spam in the shark pool .

I'd have one of each Porsche if I had the garage space (only one car would be close to the front though ).

Cheers,
Mike
