Smile Quick headlight-related question

Driver's side headlight on my S4 seems to have burned out. I've never replaced a 928 headlight, but on 944 it's a snap and the bulb can be bought at, say, Kragen. Is this the case for the 928 (90 S4) as well? And is there something I need to know before I do it? Other than avoiding touching the bulb with my bare hands? Many thanks!

ez, straight forward R&R..

3 screws on the headllight housing, undo the spring clip and pull it out the back. I recently went to some of the super whites and changed them both out in less then 10 minutes.

Any particular bulb brand (it's sorta late, but pep boys, krage, etc. should be open)?

I'd reccomend Osram or Phillips, but those guys won't carry them.

If you're willing to part with some $$$, try Sylvania (Osram) SilverStars.

They're pretty widely available, I believe. I think I've even seen them at WalMart.

I noticed they were available for "buy one, get another at half price" at the local Advance Auto Parts store last time I was in there (about a week or two ago).

It's probably a good idea to replace your headlight bulbs in pairs. If one has burned out, the other one is probably soon to follow.

Actually, Sylvania ExtraVision is supposed to be a little brigher than Sylvania SilverStar, but a little warmer color (4000K for SilverStar, 3200K for ExtraVision).

If you're more interested in brightness (over "blue" coolness), ExtraVisions are probably a better bulb.
