A fairly light pickup can tow a 928 on a reasonable trailer - IF AND ONLY IF the trailer has good brakes.

A light pickup towing a heavy trailer that doesn't have brakes is risky in dry weather, stupid in wet weather...

Case in point, I saw a light duty pickup get dragged off the highway backwards and upside down by the Bay Liner and trailer it was towing only moments earlier, just before he attempted a panic stop......The driver survived, but his toys were trash....

I recently rented a tandem axel car trailer from UHaul to tow a 2,200 pound car several hundred miles with my Tahoe. No problem with Uhaul and the tahoe barely knew the load was back there......FWIW......

I REGULARLY tow my shark on a 2-axle car trailer (WITH ELECTRIC BRAKES) wih my V-6 Ford Explorer SportTrac with NO issues other then the trucks headlights because of the tongue weight. It never ceases to amaze me - running 72-73mph, I get 16-17mpg on the Interstate with this combo!

I've posted this before, but here is a pic of my Jeep GC towing my 928 - the Uhaul trailer was 2200 lbs, the 928 around 3600, and I had stuff in the car, just about maxing out my recommended 6500 lb towing capacity. As you can see, the tongue weight is a bit heavy, tipping the front end up, but as long as I kept it under 65 mph, I had no problems starting, stopping, or going up hills. I went I-40 from CA to Tennessee into Virgina, about 2800 miles (in 3 days!) with no problems. The U-Haul did have trailer brakes, which were indispensable, but I would have no qualms about doing it again (with the exception of running on ice and snow, but I would be loathe to run any trailer in those conditions).

The F100 probably has more HP and better torque than my Jeep, so I would think it would be more than fine with the flatbed trailer setup, as long as you weren't using a bumper hitch.

One thing about that specific trailer is that you cannot adjust the tongue weight, because the car has to be placed where the front wheels can be strapped down, and the straps are at the front of the trailer and not moveable......BTDT
