Default Front Seat Broken - need trouble-shooting advice

Front drivers 8 way seat in an 88 928 S4

Eventually stopped working. Worked for awhile if you werent sitting in the seat, has now stopped all together.

I have the seat out, perhaps a wiring diagram would help?

Any ideas on trouble shooting?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I don't know any specific on the 88 seats, but an easy thing to check are the connectors - both the wires and the seat relays. Unplug every connector you can find under the seat, clean and reseat them and see if that helps. A pencil eraser will remove oxide in a pinch, but somthing like DeOxit is better and works for the female connections too.

Cleaning connectors can do wonders on a 928.

And clean the insides of the switches. Lube all the gears, cogs, slides. swap relays if necessary.
