Default Paging Andy K, need clarification

Andy:

I tried to send you an email re: the link you forwarded for the 02 sensor equipment but it got bounced back as undeliverable. The link took me to an $8.00 (eight) bung/plug). You had referenced an $80.00 (eighty) part. Should I just buy the bung/plug and have it installed in order to temporariliy mount a wide band 02 sensor? Or was the link to the wrong part? I'm trying to get everything coordinated for Monday and am running out of time...

Thanx,

B

Brian,
You need the $8.00 bung. You'll also need the sensor as I am not going to be able to get the one off my car in time now. Also e-mail me at andy@928supermodel.com as my hotmail account has been acting up over the last few days.

but having cats changes where you need to mount it IIRC?

per the manual...it should go PRIOR to the cats for the most accurate reading. If this is the case it will get VERY hot and will damage the sensor after a period of time...the heat sink will definitely help

You can install it post cats but depending on the effieciency of your CATs and wether the airpump is hooked up, it will change the AFR reading. By how much...i have no idea. Just what i read and have heard.

You guys need to be very careful that you use the right bunghole, or that will really screw things up.

Tony,
Yes it should go before the cats. Mike mounted his below his stock O2 sensor and I mounted mine at the front of the H-pipe of the cats. Where I mounted mine is very tight and it won't come out w/o removing the cats. Mike's is in a good location but one must be careful to make it as horizontal as possible there for ground clearance.
There are some instructional videos on the www.innovatemotorsports.com site now that are pretty cool.
