The "Shark Christmas List" Thread
OK, folks. I'd like to introduce a little scheme here. Here's how it works.
You add a post to this thread with the list of things you'd be happy to find under the Christmas tree (or in the driveway, or on the porch in a UPS box with a "from" address of one of the big three) that are shark-related.
Then, you mention (or send a link) to your spouse, S.O., friend, etc. that there's a really cool Rennlist thread that he/she might be interested in. We're all wanting to help reduce the season's stress level, right?
Hey, John D., have you thought about working with the Rennlist sponsers to set up a gift registry?
I'll start.
(You might want to scale down your list, though; I'm not sure mine is going to fly.)

- If you really love me, talk to Andy K. or Tim M. and just mention the secret code letters "SC" -- they'll know what to do. Just give them your credit card info. [NB: hmmm... I wonder if my wife would be able to make the twin-screw/centrifugal decision?]
- If you'll at least stick with me, how about hiring Tony to detail my engine bay?
- Maybe time's more important than money right now. Here's something really convenient and just a few clicks away: Quick EBay search for a GTS
(check to see that it's a 5-speed, though, and I'll forgive you for insisting that we get an auto tranny when we got the S4)
(You might want to scale down your list, though; I'm not sure mine is going to fly.)

BTW, for those of you who have a hard time thinking of things to ask for, I'll give a few ideas (in all seriousness, stepping back from my usual BSing).
- Tools. Just a week ago, I got some new air tools. It was my introduction to air tools, and I'm a happy camper. Got some good-quality Ingersoll Rand stuff off EBay. A 2135QTi impact wrench, a 2010 air ratchet, and a ToolGuard air dryer. Got a new compressor, too (but locally, not off EBay). All I can say is that if you haven't used air tools before, you're in for a major rush (literally ) the first time you fire one up. BTW, on EBay, you might want to check out CBM Tools. Great prices and quick delivery. (No affiliation, I'm just a happy buyer)
- JDS Porsche's cool new tester (for the S4/GT and up crowd). I've been lusting after one of these since I heard about it. Might even have to pull one of my "oh look, something from Santa" tricks on this one

Hmmmm....let's see here. Where to start?
1. Bilstein/Eibach sounds very nice.
2. I have lots of Jager Engineering stuff all over mine. Interior wood grain, exterior lettering, door sills and lock kits.
3. SC sounds great, but a little scary for a moderate DIYer.

Dear Santa -
I have been a very good boy this year. For Christmas, I would like a set of NICE headers to hook up to my Ott x-over that I gave myself last year. I'd also like one of those fire extinguishers those other boys were talking about (HALON ONLY, PLEASE...those of us that have been through a shark fire realize that the mfg. was SERIOUS when they listed "Nuisance Dust" as a prime ingredient!). Lastly, I'd like a mid rise scissor lift. (Harbor Freight is opening a store in Pensacola soon - maybe Santa can get a good deal.
Enjoy the milk and cookies that I left for you in the garage, Santa,

Also, don't forget that Nicole has some nice collectables that might make nice gifts at Hooked on Cars.
Oh... and Paisley Group, as I just noticed from the pinned Admin thread.

Well... I recently got some neat interior goodies from Jager Engineering (www.jageng.com), but now I want the brushed aluminum 9-2-8 lettering for the door sills. I think that looks greeat - especially on cars with darker colors and when the clear plastic has started to get yellow or is scratched.
Besides that, I'd really need that upper hatch lock piece that costs over $300 for the alarm-equipeed cars. But so far I have not been able to get myself to spend that kind of money for fixing a cracked piece of metal.
Oh, and that Valentine 1 is still on the wish list, too...
Lastly, I wish for good Christmas business, that would help pay for the above...

Santa guided me to find one of these: http://www.bucketboss.com/product_detail.html?skuid=18
It is almost what I wanted to keep my tools and stuff neatly packed inside my spare tire. I had designed one and was planning to have it sewn and then give it to Susan at Devek because she makes these kind of things. But this one swallows up my air compressor pump, socket sets and wrenches, flares, miscellaneous nuts and bolts and fittings and electrical parts like fuses, anti seize grease, gloves, and much more stuff. And I keep the jumper cables under it which allows my cover to just fit over my spare without bowing. Check this out and maybe someone you know would like one in their stocking this year. I am getting two more for my other two cars.
Here's another model with pockets for tools:http://www.bucketboss.com/product_detail.html?skuid=103

Hey, Tony, just for you, I fired up the old avatar re-expander and came up with this ...
This photo went out on a few Christmas cards last year.
There are a few more from this series, in case you're interested.
PS: I just noticed that after having commented on another thread about how important it is to swap out your summer tires for snow tires when appropriate, here's my shark posing in winter weather wearing its summer tires and wheels. Hmmm...
