I'm considering ripping apart the 1/16th scale r/c car to fit it's body over a new one that has modern r/c car power. As it is...it's damn slow....but it sure does look purdy.

Thise bodies are way too heavy for any really fun rc stuff but I agree it would be a first and it would be very pretty. Better than the nothing we currently have eh? I've often considered doing this. I look with great drool at "Mythbusters" (the only show other than the news I watch anymore since Jesse got even more egocentric ... who knew this was even possible) .... I digress .... Anyway I drool over their plastic mould-shaping machine. Should be the easiest thing for you Dave or anyone else with a good replica, to have one made or a hundered made ... and that plastic is hard as nails and feather light too.

Make me one and you shall have dollars the same day.

Find me a place that will make a mold from the model and I'll be happy to oblige.

gruffalo...

The Kyosho Mini Z is 1/28th scale. The 1/16 body is too heavy and too large (even with modifications). What works really well is the HPI micro RS4 (1/18 scale). The body is still a bit large, but with some modifications to the micro, it can be fitted.

I have a couple of X-mods (also 1/28 scale). The first thing I did was modify a 1/24th scale body to fit the x-mods chassis. Unfortunately, it's too heavy. I'd like to vacuform a body out of lexan, but I do not have the means nor the time.

opps, it was a long shot, I browsed through a mini-z catalog before I posted, but it said nothing about scale...

Are there smaller 928 bodies that will fit mini z?

I don't think 1/16th would be too large. I have an old R/C car from about 15 years ago that ran like a bat out of hell, complete with gas shocks and pneumatic tires...it's pretty similar in size, if not a bit larger. It would be a matter of getting servos for the remote control to fit within the 1/16th shell and finding a way to mount the electric motor.

What am I thinking??? I have an engine to rebuild.

Quick Reply: 1/18th scale model 928?!?!?!
