I had a Maserati Bi-turbo in the early 90's and it was the biggest POS car that I have ever owned. Don't do it. They older ones rust like crazy, the electrical system is horrible, they don't handle particularly well, and they are not fast.

For those who do not know. it is the car that followed the bi-turbo, similar body, 4 door sedan. lavish interior. I have been looking for a fun sedan for those days that the 928 or the 944 won't do
Does anyone have any pro's or con's on the modles ?? any help would be appricated. thanks in advance.

Car was a FREAKIN' BLAST to drive though.

Take it to a big parking lot, charge $50 to whack it with a sledgehammer. You might come out ahead.

I have no clue what this car looks like as I cannot find it on the web. I will say that I was speaking with a Maserati owner yesterday who was drooling over my car. His car looked pretty new and was a convertible 2 seater. All he wanted to do was talk about the 928's. This tells me that I am not going to be looking for a Maserati anytime soon...even if they ARE owned by Ferrari.

If you pay 1500 dollars maybe you should find out why. For the 928 we know what the reasons are. We also know that porsches are UNIQUE in the supercar world, they are bulletproof. As close to it as can be. I've looked at the Biturbos very carefully for years because of the price. I have not bought because my conclusion was that, that money could be better spent on a 928 or any other Porsche.

We traded for a black 2006 Quattroporte, this week-end. Owner couldn't stand the paddle-shift transmission any longer. A short drive was enough to see his point. Car looks gorgeous. Lines and proportions are beyond fault. Makes me wish BMW could clothe their brilliant mechanical components in such pretty outerwear! Engine had a nice mid-range rush, but not much more than a healthy S4. Trade-in value, with only 2,000 miles was $80,000. Owner lost $34,000 in 2k miles: $17 per mile!

Check out the latest Grassroots Motorsports
April 2006 Grassroots Motorsports magazine has an article about the Biturbo.
I quote:
"... do not respond to neglect or rough treatment ..."
I assume this is a fuel injected car and not one of the blow through carbureted Webers - I heard these are horrific for leaks.
According to the article, parts are expensive and unavailable - windshields can cost over $1000.
And they have poor quality wiring - with corroded fuse blocks their weak point

I ran across a Quattroporte in a junkyard outside of Orlando [Bithlo] about three years ago.
I also ran across two 928's in the same yard; both were occupied by rattlesnakes- the Maserati wasn't, despite the open doors.
I can just hear Mrs. Snake, as she reviews the "houses" with her husband:
"NOOO that's not good, we don't have room for eggs and those wires hanging down and the parts falling off and that smell of burnt wires. And all that damn oil everywhere, its terrible!"
the fanged couple review the wrecked 928:
"That's far better and I can put the kids in the rear glove box and did you see the pod? Perfect place for you to catch rats!"
Heh!
Sorry, but I had to evict the Mr. and Mrs. at that point. Not with help from the law- I'm not sure they could do anything for me [and there weren't any donuts out there anyway], but with help from a piece of side trim from a rather large Volvo. I needed the perfect, uncracked pod from the '79 for my '85, and the "bellboy" couple didn't appear eager to relinquish part of their home~
AVOID Maseratis unless they are built in the 21st century!
