Has anybody done Lambo Doors, Eclipse AVN Yet?
I'll be completing the modifications on my 383 powered Porsche in a week or two. The car will be basically stealth, but I'm considering Lambo doors. Is anybody done them or considering (seriously) them being done? Also has anybody done or considering the Eclipse AVN (Audio-Video-Navagation) unit shown on www.eclipse-web.com?
So Far: Chevy (there are no Chevy parts in the engine) 383 410HP,456 LBS TRQ
Jager Engineering Light Wood Trim Installed
Grey Leather Refinished
928 Specialist 18" Wheels-Tires-Automatic Shifter leather boot-Momo steering wheel and shift ****.

I think the Strosek gullwing doors are more fitting for a 928. I've seen kits for lambo doors that can be converted back - might be fun to try - your car is already far from stock to why no?
On that subject - I'm suprised the Lambo style door has not caught on by other companies. Considering how space is becomming an issue in some major cities - these style doors really open up parking idea's.

If I remember correctly, can't you get 383 out of a Chevy 350 by installing a 400 crank?

383 is a Chevy Block
I wanted as much torque as possible, so we bored out a Chevy block to create a stroker motor. An interesting side note is that we first dyno'd the engine at 387HP and 410 lbs torque which my engine builder Jeff Cheney thought was too low, so he investigated and found a defective crank! So he built the engine again and found quite a bit more power.
One of the problems on building a motor is that I wanted "smooth". I dislike the Dragster like lump at idle of my blower motor we also have on our other 928... a mild cam means less power, so we had to do some other tricks to gain as much reliable power as possible.

VB,
Same reason why there is a 289 Cobra running in the Vintage races that pulls away from 427 Corvette's and Cobra's at Road America. If built correctly, the weight savings offset the CI's.

Actually there are 427ci and 454ci small blocks:

Wouldn't that be sweet - crazy power (600hp) and light weight (less than stock).

410hp & 456 torque is very possible from a 928 V8....Often much higher numbers with a blower or stroker.....sure the chevy motor is cheaper, but by the time you cost out the full conversion + all the headaches to go with it...why not just modifiy your 928 V8....not many pushrod engines that make the same power are as smooth as the 928 V8 (assuming your engine mounts are still good)....most 6.5L strokers are in the 440whp 470wtorque range, with blowers more (same for custom strokers) Also the AVN should work..it will cover the A/C controls....but it should fit...

I decided to scratch the Chevy and go 928 Rickshaw
Concerned about your responses about engine size, I figured gas mileage would be nill... so I've decided to go opposite and use 1 manpower (60lbs torque)
