Default Euro S Question

Will an 85 euro S engine that had a 5 speed tranny work with a 3 speed automatic in my 80 928?? What changes have to be made in order for it to work? Thanks

Flywheel, bellhousing....., Need Front flexplate MAYBE.

Great Opportunity to add a 4spd auto (84 or 85 or so) if you must stick with auto. I did this and it was a GREAT improvement. Need later style TT, change shift linkage. Its called a bowden cable.

Don't do what I did and buy a used trans and think it will work. Rebuild one for a complete job. Mine blew up at 5k and that whole car died a horrible parting-out death. Ugh. Pains me to think about it.

Brendan, Would I need to do all that for any year euro S engine or is it just because it is a newer model engine?

All I was suggesting fan was that because the Euro engine was from a 5psd, that you would need to make sure your current 3spd flywheel and flexplate would work.... If there is any change for your current configuration, it would be there.

My point on the 4psd is that it would make your car a totally different animal. More then you can currently imagine.
