Risking so much ... for so little ... Taking a Challenge
Why can't I just let a ricer outrun me on the freeway, despite his acting like a bonehead? I'm thinking I may need to take a few days at a Swiss Retreat and ponder the futility of it all ... maybe I can figure out how to just let the gauntlet lie ..... he's not going to help me if I get measured at over 140 .... and these days, victory is so much more empty than it used to be ...

On the way home tonight a Mustang whipped in front of me, hit the gas and proceeded to weave between 2 lanes of traffic, like a nut. 30 seconds later I caught him stopped at the red light. He shot off at green and weaved some more. Is his car faster? I sure wasn't going to find out. There's a time and place for everything. Showing the top end speed of a 928 on a street/highway is irresponsible. Just my opinion.....others will certainly differ

When encountering the infantile ricer type of challenge that offers far more to lose than gain, I do my best to bestow a condescending, self-satisfied ****-eater grin - and motor on - for I'm the one with the Porsche - loving every minute of it - self confident in both the capabilities of the car and the driver.

heinrich,
in case you are going to that swiss retreat, my 92 needs someone to move it. and the swiss fines for speeding are much higher, that alone will help you heal from such ideas (but i hit 145 yesterday on the bay bridge anyway, just for the fun of it)

This is why it is nice to have 500+HP attached to your right foot. It doesn't take a whole lot of demonstration to display who has the faster car.

I regard driving the 928 as akin to being a martial arts master. A master uses his skills only as a last resort, and is never provoked into a display of skill by an inferior opponent.
