rim offsets

yes, they will work, in fact , to make a nice wide fit, without fender rolling up front, 57mm offset on a 7.5 will work. the net result is a wheel that is 7mm (about .25") further in than my 9.5" rims with the 82mm offset that just tucks under the fender. In otherwords, if you would get a 9.5" rim with 57mm offsets, the rim would stick out on our car by over an inch!
here are some of the offsets that will work and give the widest up front stance for the best handling.
7" front 50.8mm
7.5" front 57.15mm
8" front 63.5mm
8.5" front 69.85mm
9.5" front 82.55mm
10 rear 50.8mm
11" rear 63.5mm
what this means is that if you have more offset the wheel is pushed in closer to the chassis. it changes with all width of wheels
So, there are the offsets that work on our cars without fuss
I use backspacing numbers as it is simpler and easier to measure quickly. (just a flat edge to the back of the rim to the mounting surface! I use 8" backspacing on fronts and rears for 9.5 /11" rims.
