[QUOTE=Abby]
I have yet to buff the car out and it could really use it. It has the typical swirls and cloudiness black cars get when not polished out correctly. I 'll get some better pics when it's polished out. [QUOTE]

Very nice job of enhancing the car. Those Fiskes really make a difference. I have the swirl and probably acid rain etching prob on my schwartz. Could you provide details on how you will solve this? I've tried the clay bar with no improvement.

Thanks Steve.

About the paint. The clay bar process is designed more for overspray removal. Acid rain and swirls are different and require different treatment.

All of the products I reference can be found @

You will need a high speed buffer and the propper pads. Woool for compounding and Foam for polishing, get 2 of each. A orbital buffer is great for finishing sealant but the high speed can be used or you can do it by hand.

The first thing to do is mask your cars trim and spoilers. Lightly tack tape around the rear spoiler and all trims that meet at a painted surface. While your buffing around those areas with the high speed, you still want to be cautious..!... but this will allow you some protection and allow you to get the buffer close.

The first application will be the P41 Super Acid Rain remover compound. Buff the surfaces of the car with the P41 until each surface is clean of water spots. Then come back and do the entire car with P40 Duz All. Do all the panels with that until you have them as good as you can get them. The rewash the car, and then use the P-21 Swirl Eliminator and Polish. Do each panel at least three good times, maybe 4. Then put a P-39 Polymer sealant on 2x for each panel. Then every couple months hit it with the polish P-21 again and it will stay perfect. I have found this to be the absolute best way to keep a black car looking 'wet'. Waxes just give to much of a cloudy look and they show swirls quicker. The polish is easier to throw a quick shine on than wax, and it actually shines better than the wax because it gives a 'wet' look.

I'm doing my car this weekend and we'll see if you can tell a diffference when I take pics.

If that does not work for your car, you may want to have the car wet sanded.

Hope this helps!

If you want to have it done here I can get it for about $125 with quality film and work. I would guess a national price would be in the ballpark of $175.00

Hey that's +50.00 for Bourbon St...

Thanks Abby. Sounds like an all day job, but the alternative is a >$3K paint job, removing trim, etc. It's been garaged, the paint is good otherwise. I have a random orbit which never really seemed to to do the job. I think I should trade it for a high speed, like you suggest. Anybody want one for $25, hardly used?
