Tony,
Buy a set of socket wrenches. Having done this job a couple of times. I'd use a socket to hold the bolt from above and another deep socket to remove the nut.
The ideal tool above is a flex-head socket combination wrench (open-end by flex socket), but a but a 3/8" breaker bar will work just as well.
