Floor mat holddowns in my 78 are snaps and in my 95 they are posts with plastic caps that are threaded down the posts.

Windshield (front) trim on the 95 has a piece of weatherstripping glued to the short piece (A-pillar) the 78 does not. The top piece of trim around the windshield trim might be the same. There is also a piece of weatherstripping in each corner of the windshield where the upper trim piece meets the A-pillar trim piece.

Battery post might be the same but the 78 has no cover (at least mine doesn't).

Dennis gas tanks are different the early 78-79 has a smaller recess for the fuel pump . Heinrich how could anyone ignore you ?? "floor mat holddowns NOPE (early cars were snaps). windshield (front) trim NOPE GTS sides are much different rubber inserts very nice (or was that chrome(NOPE) on the ob) ... battery post (front) maybe ?? and cover Nope (cover change as I recall)" ....As was mentioned, the clutch short shaft IS DIFFERENT length for 78. The front TT clamp is different length 5 speed , ............... so what we are seeing are light bulbs , door clips, fasteners ,some bearings ................. The 1978 and 1995 are two very different cars ........

There is no 'win" simply pointing out how much the car changed over the years. Like the floor pan is much different early to late. I had simply not really thought much about it and found it interesting.

Jim,

Thought they were the same since I was able to install a 91 on the 78 euro. Guess they are backwards compatible.

Jim Bailey just verified why buying off eBay or from some uninformed "We Sell Porsche Stuff" company is sometimes money thrown away. I learned early on to just call someone who knows his kit and have them send me the right part, right now. In the process, they usually tell me that I don't need some things, about other parts I didn't know that I'd need, and how to best make the repair. Thanks, Jim.

Harvey thanks for the nice comments . That is the advantage of ONLY selling parts for one model of one make plus the LEAST experienced parts" sales" person here has 12 years of experience with 928 parts. We also do no service work on customer cars so do not have to chose between answering the telephone or finishing torquing the cylinder head . Absolute total commitment to selling parts for 928s new, used, rebuilt. Having so many parts in inventory means I can go LOOK at one, Having taken apart well over 500 928s has allowed us to have seen/ touched everything on a 928. 928 International -- 928 parts.
