Brent you are correct I did not drive a Cayenne and I am sure that it does indeed drive and handle well given the size and weight . I do agree that the current BMW designs have missed the boat (or did the find it). I followed a Cayenne S last night toward Newport Beach vanity plate was "4HEREGO" I thought might say a lot about the driver. I guess I resist the transition from a company making a limited number of special cars into one which makes expendable , disposable , transportation cars , albeit expensive ones . I do find it somewhat amusing that people who would not be caught dead in a station wagon openly embrace SUVs etc. ............. Oh Well , I never considered 924/944/968 to actually be a PORSCHE that is how skewed my perception happens to be.

I'm not sure I identify with most Cayenne buyers myself. Of course I feel the same about many Boxster buyers as well I may have gone with a wagon but I really do need the ground clearance at times, it snowed two feet here Halloween night and very little had been plowed by the time I had to take the kids to school. They packed more into the Pepper than they needed to IMO. The off-road capability is kind of a joke in my eyes, they could have skipped that, dropped 500+ lbs and improved everything from handling to economy. Back to handling, don't be such a crumudgeon, get out and try one, they do not require a qualifier for size and weight, no more than a 928 does vs a 944 anyway
