Chuck - word to the wise old man - I found those coffie stains THROUGHOUT the entire fuel system - feel lines, return lines, the accumulator in the fender, and the secondary pump - this is on the 78. I can only assume that you may wish to dig deeper and peer into the end of one of those hard lines on the passenger side. Under use those could release that stuff and clog those nice 27 year old CIS injectors or indeed the 1100 dollar CIS distributor.

Thanks Brendan. I looked into the open ends of the fuel pumps and the couple fuel lines that are detached and couldn't see anything. I know that doesn't necessarily mean they are clear and I must say I have been thinking more about the possibility of problems lately. Getting ready to put things back together again so we'll see.

The "coffee" that I have found in my entire 78 fuel system (may that system RIP) was immediatley apparent with a quick look at those hard lines and the accumulatory. You could be in the clear and have a totally different problem in that the fuel SAT in that tank for YEARS.
