Suspension changed! WooHoo
Well after about of a month and a half to two months of having the Eibachs laying around I desides today was the day they go in. This job was really an I mean really easy. The fronts:
1) Undid upper strut bolts under hood
2) Jack up car
3) Remove wheel
4) Removed Stab Link
5) Undid strut lower bolt
6) Undid lower arm bolts at frame.
7) Swung arm towards front. Had helper hold arm out of way.
8) Got jack stand, I lifted on spindle to make upper arm level, rested on stand, strut fell out.
9) Put in new strut had helper thead one upper strut bolt.
10) replaced lower strut bolt
11) Replaced lower arm frame bolts.
12) replaced stab link
13) Torque bolts
14) Replaced wheel and lowered car.
15) Replaced all upper bolts
16) Torqued down upper strut bolts
Yes, this is exactly what I did. Right side 1.5 hrs. Left side a little under an hour.
I'm fat and move slow. Plus I stare a lot. Worked like an absolute charm.
Rear ( a little longer )
1) Undid upper strut bolts
2) Jack up car
3) Remove wheel
4) Remove brake
5) remove spindle
6) remove shroud
7) The bolt that goes thru the lower arm and lower strut, Remove nut towards the front of the car
8) Hammer the bitch out. (Juice it up a bit) WATCH HOW WASHERS GO
9) Pull strut out in front of link
10) replaced with new strut. Got helper to threat an upper strut bolt on.
11) Replaced bolt thru arm and strut. Remember how washers go
12) Torqued nut
13) Replace shroud
14) Replace spindle
15) Replace brake (torque bolts)
16) Replace wheel.
17) lower car
18) replace bolts to upper strutt and torque down.
Done. It was as easy as it sounds. Of course I have to adjust the height and wheel alignment but rides and handles outstanding.

Man, its sweet. The ride is close to as before. You immediately know a difference when you start to turn and then go into a full turn. Also, there is a potion of road near me like a little woop di do but very mild, Before the would sloppily go over it making my front tires rub (they stick out a tad). Now it is like voomp voomp voomp. Much stiffer with zero slop.

Oh yeah, I dorve my brothers 88 S4 and it is pretty tight in the handling department. I would say a bit better then my S4 as it was before. Now..... Totally different story.

they do transform the handling, dont they? each time ive uprated the suspension, first with new shocks followed by ott droplinks and finaly the eibachs, ive driven the car away from my mechanic and said... 'now this is how a sports car should ride!'

Bilstein/Eibach....great stuff. If only all 928s came with thiss stuff, or sport suspension standard, 928s would have had more of a rep as a sports car and not a plush GT touring machine.
Since installing 2 months ago, my eibach springs broke in and the ride height got progressively lower and the alignment specs became crap- front toe out and too much camber front and rear. When I cranked it back up everything came back and it feels so much better on the road. I am starting to think most 928 tire wear issues are from a sagging ride height throwing the alignment way out. In addition to all the other issues about bad alignments after lifting the car.

Note that I have the BOGE struts not Bilstien. I have the boge/Eibach in my Euro and felt that was plenty enough for me. The Bilsteins is way overkill for the kind of driving I do. And the added cost just didn't make sense. Trust me she is a handling fool. I am going outside now and look at the height measurements. And then maybe actually do something about it. I doubt it though.

Oh Yeah, One more thing. I have an impact wrench and air rachet that made this job a bit more easier then not having them. If you do not have these tools expect the above job to take a little bit longer.
