Computer dash display dim in one spot...
1989 S4
A question for those of you who have the computer display....
Last night while driving around, I noticed that there was a dark spot in the display. The far left side of the bigger "box" in the middle and the far right side of the thinner "line" display on the left of the middle "box".....about a 2 inch area altogether.
Is the computer display lit up with a bulb? ....and if so, how do I get to it? Pod removal or is it reachable from underneath?
Thanks
,
Jeff

I have accessed a quicker way to get the instrument cluster out (without Pod removal).
Was just curious if the digital display is lit by bulbs or not before I get into it. Would anyone know which bulbs I need?.....if it's a bulb problem.

I've just had my pod out and done this. I've seen Schocki's procedure but havent tried it. I can get the pod off in 15 minutes anyway. Your problem is a single miniature bulb. One of four which illuminate the display. You have to remove the instrument cluster to change it. If you need any help get back to me.
