Give me some time, but my Uncle in England has a aquired a printing business that prints specialty labels. He has the cabability of printing on foil from what i gather and I may be able to help. Hes busy with his own business now, but i will see what i can do also.

Chris, did you just scan a good set of originals and have them reproduced at a printer? I honeslty wouldnt know where to begin really.

Tony, well if your Uncle is in the business that would be pretty cool. I used a hazard labelling company that we have used here at work, the best thing is they do small runs (i.e qty 25) most places want in the 100's for min qty. They are great to work with and I can pay by CC.

For artwork I had to create that myself, all the type font, graphics, color information all needs to be defined. Luckily I got someone here at work to take my electronic rendering and generate the correct drawings.

Beauty of using this hazard label company is that the labels and glue are rated at 300F, they arn't just a laser printed label. Size is another issue, this place does a good deal on custom dies but luckily their stock dies were pretty close to at least see if this whole thing would work out.

Printing on foil is easy enough, just more $, much easier to see if this stuff would fly by doing something a little less expensive 1st time round. I am going to get a quote for the correct size hazard warning label printed on Annodized Aluminuim, I have a feeling this will work out at ~$15 each. See if there any takers .......

Thanks to all those who procurred the 1st batch, they are pretty much gone .....

Chris

Gretch MAY have made her last run for the season on Sunday....getting pretty cold in the mountains now.....

The new 3 point snow blower for the tractor is in.....just in time......there was an inch of snow on the ground Saturday morning.......Chris, how good are those labels at dealing with COLD?

Gretch, glad you liked them.

-40C evidently, is that OK Also the adhesive is pressure sensitive, the harder you press the harder it is to get off.

The last 5 sets will go out in the mail tomorrow, apologize for the wait for those involved. Replacement labels (5 were a little of center) should be on my desk tomorrom am.

Chris:

I put mine on yesterday. They look great. The text may be a bit fuzzy in the photo, but they look great in person.

For those that are interested here is a pic showing how the labels are constructed.

Chris:

Yeah, yellow seems to be a common theme on the shark. Calipers, plug wires. Really looks sharp against the black paint.

Good revival of an old thread.
Now for the details....
Are these under hood stickers available from anyone other than Porsche?
I'm particularly interested in the gold foil firing order sticker. Was a repro ever done? The black print on mine is almost completely gone. I'd say wiped over with a cleaning chemical like Nicole says, but the "High Tension" sticker (also gold foil) is in nearly perfect shape.

Mine are all trashed. I got a set on ebay that were decent, gold foil but of the matte varietly, not shiny, and smaller than stock.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...item3a664c7958

I didn't think any of them were available in shiny gold foil.
