Hello....new Shark owner here........

Nicole....
You're very astute....it's a US car....sold at Ryan Porsche in Ft. Worth, Texas.....I bought it directly from the second owner of the last 10 years, here in town.....and he actually bought it directly from the first owner down there. Every piece of paper comes with it, and every stamp is in the book....so far only one piece of paper has my name and C/C number on it.....but as I have read here, I fully expect that to change......heh.
So few of these cars were sold new here (at 6 figures apiece in the last few years they were made) that they are either really older total wrecks.....or not for sale.....ever. The GTS fits in that category.....there's only one for sale in Canada....so......the pickings are slim to none.
Mark.....
They're 17".........It just had new rubber and an alignment done when the steering rack was replaced a couple of months ago. I've been messing around with this new digital camera and trying my hand at car pics........must be the "optical dynamics" of the car...........I'm not still past the button stage with the camera yet.
IcemanG17.....
Oh I agree about the kickdown.......I remember one time at a track event here about 10 years ago, there was this long term 928 owner who probably just spun around from disco to deli with his car all it's life. Never got over 1500 rpm.....well this guy gets taken on the track by the DI and is in total shock when he gets out in pit row........never knew the car had that or could actually perform like that. He was an older guy who probably just never pressed hard enough in his skinny Italian shoes. He kept coming back to track events after that day.

You Hoser! Nice Ride Ay! Welcome to the Jungle. Advice: don't be afraid to ask stupid questions, Gretch, Thaddeus, Heinrich, Big Dave and Nicole are always giving excellent advice or making fun of you. You might even get Jack '84 928s to fill you in on his environmental cure for the Cat removal. I stumbled onto a cat fight between him and Nicole. Very Funny stuff. Check out search "Flushed the cats and exhaust with water"
Welcome.

I think the rims look OK. There is a guy that lives in my neighborhood that has a 944 with chromed phone dials. It actually looks pretty good with the red paint. I have refinished chrome rims before with pretty good results. I bead blasted chrome the finish to rough it up and repainted with a rattle can. It came out pretty nice. They were crager mags and I painted to look like torque-thrust rims.

Take off eh !! (Sharkdriver drunkenly swings empty "stubby" beer bottle in your general direction, while slipping and falling on a piece of fried back bacon while attempting to adjust toque at the same time)
If you haven't seen SCTV's "Bob and Doug" you just won't understand !!
Mel928944...
Thanks !!
G Man....
Chrome rims........heh.......I can live with them, after all the car is red, so they are not as obvious to the eye IMHO........problem is, it's about $150 each to remove the chrome and another $100 to repaint them professionally. I could buy new "Cup" knock offs for that much money up here...more or less. But they are like new and virtually unmarked.....so why bother.
Styln928......
I agree....they break up the nice curves of the car.

Nicole....
Thanks......Yeah......I know about that car........it's the one for sale I was talking about. Too much mileage for the year (relative to other P-cars that is) and too much money for me.......IMHO it's about $10K overpriced.

flyin scotsman,
Welcome, I am a fairly newbie also.
We are planning a get-together in Sun Peaks or Salmon Arm next summer. I have a post started on this at:
https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ighlight=north
From the response so far, hopefully we can put something together for June / July.

thx Mike............the car has been in AB for some time; perhaps all its life. I'm the 3rd owner, bought it private from a guy in Calgary who maintained it at the local Porsche folks. Car is stock except for RMB, K&N air filter. Will add turbo twist wheels, momo steering wheel and gear shift level and big red ign. wires over the long winter months. No winter boots for the 928 they're on my chev 4X4 truck!!!
