Default Cheap hotels in Dallas by Love Field?

Picking up a car (not a 928 unfortunatley - its an "appliance" for my wife - Acura MDX 2001) on Wednesday morning, but will have to fly in Tuesday night. I found one by Dallas Love for 40 bucks. Anyone know of any "Hotel 8" type deals? Bed, four walls, bathroom? Oh, and a roof.

Brendan,

That is about as good as it gets. At $40, I'd be concerned about the neighborhood.

Where are you taking delivery of the vehicle? Dealer or private seller?

I'll be around Tuesday night if you need a ride.

PM me if you need help.

Scott

I don't "sell" my 928s chuck, as much as they disolve into new ones. This is a "wifemobile" even though deep down I know she would love an auto GTS. I'll get her one of those, but she needs this with the whole back seat/utilitarian/Working AC/non-project car thing going for it.

Scott - I may take you up on that offer if it isn't a big jaunt for you to get to Dallas Love or what's its name? Its probably not good to pick up a car at night anyway, so waiting till morning is fine.

Brendan . . Forget the motel 8. You can stay the night with Mary & myself. Then in the morning I can drive you over to check out/pick up the SUV. It all depends what time you fly in. I work the mid day shift and don't get out until 9pm. Maybe I can have Mary pick you up since she works kinda near there. Drop me a PM.

Wow. The support here is just awesome. I really appreciate the kind of buddy-system that could provide those offers. Today I found out that my 62 year old father wishes to take this "journey" with me from Dallas to back to San Diego and then fly back to his home in Chi-town.

We will have to get a hotel, and I will have to get some sort of double room or maybe two since I need to sleep and he creates jet-engine-like snooring as I recall. I can't subject Ron or his family to that!

I do want to take the opportunity if it presents itself to see some the faces here. Sterling also offered a pick-up from the airport, but also before I knew my Father was comming too. Sometimes its better to travel alone, and I like it better, but the man is retired and probably needs a "vacation".

Hey Brendan . . No problem guy. I'm just on the favor that came my way. If anyone remembers just 2 weeks ago Richard & his wife out in Sacramento picked up my brother Joe from the airport and drove him to pick up my 88 S4. This is a great community we have here. I have room for the both of you. Let me know if I could help in any way.

Any chance of some of us getting together on Tuesday night at some local place and shootin some 928 BS around? I'd sure like to put some faces to the names here. I was in Dallas to pick up my very first 928 in October 2000 (the 89 that I still have - see signature) and Sterling Gee was there with good Texas Hospitality and tour control then.

Chuck - sorry - didn't see the other connection.

Pretty tightly wrapped bunch here. Imagine owning a 928 or buying a 928 for the firet time without a group like this. I think we got just about every major city covered.
