Angry Engine hesitation (sometimes) 82 5 speed

This is driving me NUTS. If, I drive my car EVERYDAY. its runs perfect. If I miss even one day, it runs awful. Breaks down under load, let out the clutch shakes bad a feels like its runingon 4 cuylinders. Also fowl smell of fuel. Next: Bring the car home, shut off, go back in one hour, start it up and the car runs like it just came out of the showroom. Thanks for any ideas.

That's pretty much how the car will run with a low supply voltage. The injection likes 12V and gets rich on less. I definately have had an issue on my '82 where something intermittant (in the pod?) makes the alternator not charge sometimes. Shut it down and start it and vwa-la it's charging again.

Faulty cold start injector thermo-time switch?

It's the sensor pointing forward, next to the thermostat housing. Unplug the sensor to check. (It will need a few extra cranks to start without it.)
