When walking around on the parking lot at the GP-track I met a doctor that had locked his keys in the GTS and couldn't get them out. I showed them the "Rubber plug behind the drivers seat technique" and I think they eventually fixed it sine the car was gone later on that day.
It had a grey leather interior and looked like new.

Beautiful car!
But do you speak enough German to explain why you have this knowledge and that you are not a professional 928 thief???
Just kidding! Glad you had fun in my home land!

It is nice to see how hard these cars are to brake into, the locksmith said that it's not even worth trying to get the doors open without damaging something badly.

The only way I can think of is to lock the car with the hatch open then throw the keys in and shut the the hatch. Sounds dumb. Just Never put the keys down on the back hatch.
I'm glad I didn't need an extra key because it took my local MB and Porsche dealer 5 months get another key.

I once had been driving my car with the doors locked by pressing the red dash button. I stopped, left the engine running, pressed the button to unlock the doors, opened the door and stepped out (engine still running), stepped away from the door,.......and the door fell shut......and the automatic door locks actuated and locked both doors with the engine still running and a full tank of gas.
But.......the sunroof was open. Whew!
For that reason, I always carry a spare key. Always.

The red button is useful in peaceful, orderly, and predictable locations like inner city San Francisco where no unexpected loonies ever roam and cars are never car jacked.......not. Whenever I enter the city, the button gets pushed. It is such a clean, friendly, unhostile place there my mind is put at ease by that button. Having lived there in the thick of the muck I know better than to be too casual about driving through it. Of course I can think of worse places not far from there just across the bay. Fun and games in Pleasantville, USA.

The only way for a good p-car to live in San Francisco is for it to have its own abode: an expensive garage. But still, garages can also be targets especially if someone sees that there's a nice car inside. Of course, I have both my cars in a nice two-car garage in Oakland and had all of my tools stolen a month or two ago. And I don't even have a red-button!

I took his keys, locked the door and dropped them into his sunroof. It was fun watching him try and climb into the top.
