I just discovered that I do not have a bridge, but a custom built wire with ring terminals at each end.
I am confused as to what exactly the bridge is supposed to do, other than provide a path to ground. Am I running a risk of catastrophic failure by leaving the wire in place?

That's a first on this project, hearing that the part is good. TB/Wp has become 4 gears, 2 seals, lower idler refurb and somehow getting coolant out of the oil pan. I love it.
Now, why in the heck did Porsche use such an obviously purposeful part in teh original copper bridge? I kept think it must be important in some way I wasn't understanding because somebody went to some trouble to design and build that part. What gives? Why use that where a wire would work?
