I LOVE RENNLIST

You guys are awesome. I'm still waiting for word from 928 Specialists whether they can get the tensioner bolt. I may have to try the CA members of the Big 3 next. Tiburon has PM'ed me what looks like a great offer to swap my heads for his rebuilt ones for a little cash. This project is looking better each day.

By the way, I'm test-driving an RX-8 tonight. Black (of course), 6 speed, 238hp, less than 3,000 pounds, leather, 4yr/50K bumper-to-bumper warranty, etc. $360/month for a 24 month lease. That's within the budget, so my growing Porsche withdrawal may get some much-needed alleviation soon. My true love is for the 928, though, and she'll emerge with a spotless engine bay, completed with powdered intake. I want it to shine like it's fresh from the showroom floor. If I have all winter, I can spread the cost out to acceptable levels. My time is free to me!

Dennis....your Weissach is gonna have some serious competition at future concours events.

Keep your fingers crossed. Unless there's significant damage to the block or pistons, this shark will swim again!

You guys ought to enjoy this. Since I know my 928 is off the road at least until Spring (garage queen anyone?), I am getting a new daily driver. I've been on the phone playing the "who's gonna be the best" game with area salesmen. Best price on a loaded RX8 has been dropping throughout the day. It started around $412/month and has been now reduced to $347 INCLUDING taxes for a 2 year lease. This is on a $31K vehicle. The sales guys now know they're bidding against each other, and since tomorrow is the end of a sales month, they're salivating. There are 4 in the game right now, and two of them are arch rival dealerships.

Here's a sneak peak...although it's NOTHING compared to my baby, it'll help ease the (temporary) withdrawal:
